Bluetone Ironman

This tube head is a real 2 channel point-to-point guitar amp which has individual tone controls for both preamp channels and channel switching with a footswitch.
Clean preamp channel has a shimmering and sparkling sound which is very flexible and similar to traditional world famous tube guitar amps sounds from old Fender and Vox worlds.
Crunch preamp channel is based partly on modified Slodano SLO100 world and partly to own design. This channel has Gain, Treble, Middle, Bass, Master controls and a Warm/Cold Switch which changes channel distortion from Warm/Traditional to Cold/Modern distortion. With all these controls this channel produces all sounds from semiclean to very distorted lead sounds.
Amp includes a buffered tube effect loop with a Send level control.
Poweramp is equipped with 2xEL34 tubes and is partly based on Fender/Soldano world and partly to own design. Output power is 50-80 W depending tubes and distortion level. All general octal power tubes like 6550/KT88, EL34, 6L6GC, KT66, 6V6GT can be used in this amp. Power tubes change and biasing them is very easy with an external bias point and Bluetone Bias Rate meter, which can be bought from manufacturer.
I changed 6550 tubes to EL34 and took UL configuration away from the power amp. At the moment this amp is to my mind more a traditional rock music machine after those changes.
Power amp has Presence and Master Volume controls which control both preamp channels. Master Volume is a PPIMV (Post Phase Inverter Master Volume) style, which helps to create also phase inverter distortion with low levels if needed.
Both preamp channels and phase inverter use 12AX7/ECC83 tubes. Rectifier is a silicon type.
Amp can be equipped also with VVR (Variable Voltage Control), which is a dynamic output power control. It is a nice add on with PPIMV Master Volume. With VVR you can dial output power even to bed room level and get also power stage distortion when needed.
